lyrics

One hundred years have passed but it could easily have been a day. Clocks are no use in this town we tell time by the rains. This house is big enough to keep us apart for years at a time but too small to entertain our tangled web of lives. Our lies shift like sands in the stormy weather of our lust. Death came late to this town but sure as hell made up for lost time. Mechanical. Emotionless. Violence for added value. Disperse the workforces; let no attachment be made. Our lies shift like sand in the stormy weather of our lust. I can't say for sure what's for the best but somehow I've made the same mistake twice. I've left fulfilment behind in favour of uncertainty. Like I said I don't know if it's right or wrong but somehow I've made the same mistake again. I've left fulfilment behind in favour of an unknown future. One hundred years and what do we have to show for it as these pages blow away? One hundred years have passed but what have we seen? What have we learned? We've seen birth; we've seen lies; we've seen love; we've seen death in endless ending unending repetition. Birth; lies; death; repeat. Birth; love; death; repeat.
